2015 Good Shepherd Team to Argentina has been formed!

Dear Friends,

The Bible calls believers to care for widows and orphans. Matthew 25:40 says “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” More than 75 children, ages infant to 18 years, all of whom are from broken homes, live at the Sunrise Children’s Home in San Nicolas, Argentina. They certainly qualify as the least of these. Tom Feeney, a missionary supported by Good Shepherd, serves as chaplain at Sunrise Children’s Home, where these kids are cared for in amazing ways by an amazing staff. This summer a team from Good Shepherd will answered the call and visit Argentina.

Nine of us will travel to San Nicolas, about three hours northwest of Buenos Aires, on June 26th. We will live at a local Bible camp for two weeks. During the week we will spend our days doing light construction, converting about 1,000 square feet of storage space into offices. During the evenings and on weekends we will do ministry outreach with small local churches, spend time with the kids, and pursue events to bring awareness of the Children’s Home and its needs to the community. It’s an intimidating venture that will stretch us all, but we are excited about this opportunity to reach out in faith.

To be effective in this work, our team will spend many hours in prayer and preparation over the next several months. We cannot succeed without the support of people like you who will pray for our preparations, as well as for our safety and success while we are in Argentina. Each member needs to raise support to cover expenses for training, ministry, and for our travel. Would you prayerfully consider being a part of our support team?
