Getting Ready to Go

We had our last official team meeting before we leave. We have had a wonderful rich time bonding as a team. We will be spending Tuesday evening together as we pack our luggage for our trip.
One of the first things we decided as a team was that our team motto would be “Flexibility”!
Our team will have a two-fold purpose. We will be doing ministry with the children. This will involve ministry on three to four evening/nights a week and weekends. We will be visiting different churches in the town and also visiting parks and ministering in the town we will be in. We will also be spending time with the children at the home.
The second part of the trip will be some light construction in an already existing building. We will be constructing walls, windows, ceilings and electrical to make the area into offices. Since we do not have exact plans to work from we may arrive and need to start all over on what plans we have (remember our team motto). We will all be participating in all aspects of the projects; however many of us have different skills and experiences which will be to our advantage as we strive to glorify our Lord in everything we do. We will also be looking at how we can help with an area that might be used for gardens and to raise some poultry to help the children’s home with food and begin teaching the children how to grow their own food.
We are not sure what we will run into as far as materials and tools, so we have already acquired tools either from some of our own tools or through purchases. After we complete the trip we will be leaving the tools and materials for future construction projects.
When you are praying for the team, please remember us in several ways. Pray that we are able to obtain all of the building materials and tools we need. Pray also that we would have the patience to not only work with tools and materials that we have, but also to have a teaching attitude as we include the entire team and the different children we will include in our work projects. Also be praying that we will be able to complete the projects before we leave.
We are really looking forward to spending time with the Feeneys. What a great couple to be representing our church on the field. Pray that our visit would also give them encouragement!
